Finland’s Minna Grusander continued to show promise over the weekend as the former IMMAF amateur world champion picked up her fifth professional victory.

The 28-year-old secured her latest international success, competing in Poland for the first time. Featuring at LFN 8 in Łódź, Grusander opened the card with triumph over Poland’s own Hanna Gujwan by forcing her opponent to submit to a rear-naked-choke in the second round.

Expanding her success across the European scene, Grusander climbed to 5-1 with a third consecutive stoppage having now bested pro opposition from Finland, Ukraine, Sweden and now Poland. Her only loss to date came in early 2017 as ‘Brutsku’ took a shot at facing the highly touted Syuri Kondo at Pancrase 284 in Japan. Taking on experience that will no doubt serve as a healthy learning curve, she went the distance in just her third pro bout, however lost out via a unanimous decision to the now undefeated UFC contender.

Grusander’s taste for international success began in 2015. As an undefeated amateur at the domestic level, she stepped up to the Finnish national team, selected by the Finnish MMA Federation. In what was a highly successful year for her country, Grusander secured the gold medal in the Women’s strawweight division. Her trio of victories in Las Vegas included wins over Amy O’Mara (UK), Codie Wareham (USA) and Maria Colonna (Italy).
